Hello! Today's SCS Limited Supplies challenge was to use up those scrap papers and limit your stamping and embellishments--Weaving is perfect for using up neglected scraps, so I decided to try to make what looks like a spring basket card.
I started with a standard card and cut each side gradually in from top to bottom. The top is the crease and the opening at bottom.
To Weave: I cut 1/2" strips of various scrap papers and layed down first vertically. I then glued down just the very tops of each vertical strip and began weaving strips horizontally from the top. Glue down as you go and it becomes easier and more secure as you work. That's it!
Trim the excess strip ends off and round the corners if desired. I sponged the edges with Chestnut Roan fluid chalk ink and attached the ribbon handle with pink flower brads, then tied various scrap ribbons onto the sides and along the top. This bird was stamped, colored and cut out already, so I stuck him on the front and added "luv u" letter stickers (also scraps--thus the shortened spelling.)
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend! ~hugs~
