Gina K. Preview Party- Day 3

Today I am featuring Day 3's sneak peek of 1 of 4 brand new individual "Kindred Spirits" Dads stamps by Gina K. Designs, called Hiking With Dad. I asked to preview this particular image because it reminds me so much of my own Dad hiking with my two brothers--a pastime they have always enjoyed together. The coordinating sentiment is also from a new set called Kindred Greetings For Him. This set is going to cover all of your masculine sentiment needs! My card is 6x6" squared and the scene takes up all but a 1/2" on each side. I tried out Michelle Zindorf's Brayered Sky technique for the first time. My sky's colors were SU! Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turqoise and Green Galore. Michelle offers a wonderful Tutorial on SCS, you should try it out sometime too, if you haven't already. I masked off my white cardstock with a piece of torn scrap paper to create the "mountains". After sponging in the grassy ground, there was a big white space between it and the base of the mountains. Although, I now think it looks more like a river. I used a light blue colored pencil to make the water and highlighted it with a brighter blue glitter pen for a wave effect and depth. I stamped the hiking image, colored it in, cut it out and popped it on pop dots. I hope you are enjoying the Gina K. Preview Party so far!
