MCT 12 Days of Christmas- Day 12!

Hi friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! This is it, the final day of our 12 Days of Christmas blog hop bash and I hope you have enjoyed our projects and ideas as much as we have enjoyed sharing them with you all! If you arrived here from Miss LeAnne's wonderful blog, then you are in the right place! If not, head over to Emma's blog HERE. As you all know, Emma is the most amazing lady and we have her to thank for this fabulous 12 days of inspiration and amazing giveaways! I'm super excited to see all the winners this week~ its going to be a very merry Christmas for some My Creative Time lovers for suries!!!

My final project is...
NAPKINS RINGS
made with the Lollipop Die!

I came up with another super duper awesome idea for the LOLLIPOP DIE whoo hooo!!!
It's SO easy too! Here's how:
* Cut your lollipop die out of a pretty patterned paper, either double sided or stamp your own custom design like I did with Build A Banner polka dots!
* Line up the scalloped and adhere together. **Don't bend the die at the perforated folds or it won't be "round" in shape ;)
* Decorate as desired! I used the scallop and stitched circle dies to decorate the fronts of my napkin rings. I also cuttled the scalloped circle with Divine Swirls for added texture on the shimmery silver cardstock.

MCT 12 Days of Christmas- Day 10!

Hello and welcome to day 10! If you arrived here from Miss LeAnne's wonderful blog, then you are in the right place! If not, head over to Emma's blog HERE to see the fabulous inspiration she has for all to enjoy and to see today's GIVEAWAY!

The word for today is S I M P L E
I know, not a common word around this time of year! The days til Christmas are getting shorter and my to-do list is getting longer! This project is a great little gift idea for co-workers, teachers, neighbors, friends or just to decorate your holiday home!
EASY HAND STAMPED CANDLES

A super simple technique that takes less than 5 minutes per candle and I really like the results :)
I used MCT "Merry Christmas" and the little snowman stamps from All Around Christmas set.

To make your own custom candles:
* stamp your image or sentiment in any color onto white tissue paper (if using white candles)
* cut image out carefully as tissue paper is very delicate
* place cut image where you want on the candle and hold down gently with a tool like a popcicle stick. Don't hold it down with your fingers, it burns!
* use a heating tool to go over the image keeping it about 6-8" above the candle--don't heat it too close or your candle will start to melt too fast.
* as it heats up you will see your image start to melt into the candle and when it changes shades underneath the tissue paper, its done! May take a lil practice with a small votive candle first just to get the feel but this is so easy!
* decorate candles as desired!

MCT 12 Days of Christmas- Day 9!

Hello and welcome to day 9 of our 12 Days of Christmas inspiration from My Creative Time! If you arrived here from LeAnne's wonderful blog, then you are in the right place! If not, head over to Emma's blog HERE to see the magic she has created to inspire us and to see today GIVEAWAY!

My project for today is
CHOCOLATE LOVERS GIFT BASKET

I used all My Creative Time stamps for this project. Handstamped tissue paper: snowflake from Build A Banner and snowman from All Around Christmas; custom stamped title: X-Large Fancy Label Die, XL Label Borders, 100% Sweetness and I had to throw in another paper tree lol!
** TIP- If doing tissue paper and you want to bend the edges over like I did here, I learned it's a good idea to stamp images that can't be "upside down" ---see how my snowmen are upside down because I flipped the edges over...it's still cute but I should have thought about it and stamped the snowmen the opposite way just around the top of the tissue paper or just stamped snowflakes :)
Goodies inside my $1 basket include: jar of hot cocoa mix (jar was also $1 at the dollar tree, hot cocoa mix is mix is a homemade recipe and was free!), white chocolate covered pretzels ($1) , 4 Lindt chocolate truffles (.50 cents ea)....get the idea? I love a great bargain!!! ;)
And look at this! It's yet another idea for the Lollipop Die--I decided to make them chocolate dipped spoons YUM! Covered and tied with a little gold bow inside the lollipop die, a perfect fit!!!

So, I just can't seem to get away from TREES lately, but I'm not sorry! This one was super fun and I'm excited to give it away to my neighbors who are even sweeter than it is!
I was encouraged by my new crafting friend Heather to enter this tree into the Dolce Stamps and Cards Thursday Challenge to GET YOUR SHINE ON! Thanks Heather :)
PEPPERMINT PATTY CANDY TREE
Emma's All Around Christmas and Mixed Holiday Sentiments combined with the Scalloped & Stitched Circle Die set decorated my peppermint patty's to perfection!
Here's a similar tree I made a couple years ago with mini Snickers which looked cute too, but I love my peppermint one more cus the circle stamped images and sentiments make it even more special I think.
I can't locate the original tutorial I used for them and these are so easy, I just  made this one from memory--but I did find THIS TUTORIAL which should work fine for anyone who wants to make this project and I sure hope you do!!! *Update: I found the Better Homes & Gardens CANDY TREE TUTORIAL I originally used and I'm sharing it too cus she there's more great ideas for your candy treess--like Lifesavers, Sweet Tarts and a fab idea from one of my comments today mini Twix bars!!! All sorts of sweet inspiration huh! :)

MCT 12 Days of Christmas- Day 7!

Hi you crafty holiday peeps! Today is Day 7 of our 12 Days of Christmas MCT bonanza and if you arrived here from Miss LeAnne's wonderful blog, then you are in the right place! If not, head over Emma's blog to see her magical inspiration and fabulous GIVEAWAY!!! Don't forget to leave those comments for your chance to win!!!

My project for today is FESTIVE PAPER TREES
PAPER EVERGREEN TUTORIAL by Martha Stewart, but of course!
Martha's base is a small wooden spool, which I had none but I also wanted to make these a lil more special with Emma's stamps and some "kisses" under the tree and think that creating my own base to display my the holiday sentiments is just as cute. My version requires styrofoam wrapped like a present with patterned paper, poke a hole in the center and decorate base as desired. Simple as that :)
My Creative Time stamps from All Around Christmas and stitched die from Build A Banner stamp and die set used to complete my project! SEE! :D

MCT 12 Days of Christmas- Day 6!

Can you believe we are already halfway through our My Creative Time 12 Days of Christmas?! I'm having so much fun, I don't want it to ever end lol :) If you've arrived here from the talented LeAnne's blog, then you are in the right place! If not, start at Emma's blog HERE!

Today I'm sharing a couple of mini glass ornaments my Christmas pajamas card I made using MCT's All Around Christmas set and Mixed Holiday Sentiments (Snowmany Hugs) set.
My cozy jammies card is simply a CRISS CROSS CARD, flipped to be 5 1/2" in height instead of the tutorials way of 4 1/4". Obviously you can make this type of card for any occasion and it's so easy, I think that you'll definitely want to try it too!
Homemade glass ornaments:
* Stamp your image on punched shape from cardstock (not too heavy or it won't bend right). Clear plastic overlay material works really good cus it bounces right back once inside your bulb and doesn't have to be "fixed". For this, stamping with a nice bold or bright color works best.. For these mini bulbs I used my SU! scalloped circle punch for one and 1 3/8" circle punch on the other. You can go bigger as long as your punched shape is smaller than the bulb! ;)
* Punch a small hole at the top of the stamped shape, then string narrow ribbon through the hole.
* gently "roll" the sides of your image just enough to slide through the hole of the glass bulb. It will be slightly curved so to make it "flat" again--take a popcicle stick or similar "tool" to push up behind the image and very gently return the paper to a flattened position.
* Remove the ornament top and string the ribbon straight up through the hole of the top, then try to get the stamped image in front of the two wire prongs (this holds the image in place better).  Return top to the bulb and pull the ribbon til you have your image centered within the bulb, then tie at the top.
*Adorn with ribbon/embellishments if desired and done!

MCT 12 Days of Christmas- Day 4!

Hi, I hope everyone is enjoying your weekend! If you arrived here from LeAnne's blog then you are in the right place! If not, head over to Emma's blog to start the hop and to see the project she is dazzling us all with today! Of course she will also show you what today's GIVEAWAY is and I'm talking seriously awesome stuff peeps-- so be sure to comment on every team members blog for your chance to win today!!!

Moving along to day 4 of My Creative Time's 12 days of Christmas:
Altered Tin Pails
I found my mini white pails in the wedding section at my local dollar store, they come 3 to a pack for a buck and I am thinking I need to return and pick up like a whole bunch more of these! They are just so fast and simple to decorate and customize for so many occasions, in this case Christmas--hoorayyy for Christmas!! :)
* The tiny Christmas tree and title "Happy Holidays" are a couple of the many wonderful images and sentiments you'll find in MCT's All Around Christmas set.
* Tissue paper stamped in certainly celery (SU!) with the polka dots stamp from MCT's Build A Banner set.
* I punched a hole in either side of the oval titles and strung narrow white satin ribbon through and around the pails, then tied to the front side.  Also, I adorned each with a small green heart brad and sponged certainly celery around the oval for some depth. I added styrofoam glitter stars to the handles, but think of the possibilites for handle decor: ribbons, hollyberries, flowers, tags, chipboard shapes, more stamped images, charms etc.........
* Fill your pail with: any small treat, a small gift like a piece of jewerly, lipgloss, or for a crafty friend, a small bag of embellishments like buttons, bling, etc!  Of course you could always just put some cold hard CA$H in them too!!! However, hershey kisses are cheaper soooo mine are filled with chocolate instead of money haha!

MCT 12 Days of Christmas- Day 3!

Happy Saturday everyone! Wow, it's already day 3 of our My Creative Time 12 Days of Christmas bonanza, which means we are another day closer to the big one and time is not slowly down any! If you have arrived from LeAnne's blog then you are in the right place! If NOT, start at Emma's blog HERE to see the awesomeness she has created today and to see what the GIVEAWAY is for today! Be sure to comment on the entire DT line up during the blog hop for your chance to win some early presents that I bet are right up your crafty little alley! ;)

As the holidays near, I know there will be more visitors popping into my home and there always seems to be those few people who are so thoughtful and give me a holiday gift and I have nothing for them--yikes!!! It's good to have some small holiday gifts on hand for these particular occasions and today I'm sharing a couple of projects that I hope will make for nice little gifts.
I actually purchased nothing special to make my Beary Merry Gift Baskets. I collect bears, especially Boyd's and every year I seem to add a few more to my holiday collection. I like to give these mini Boyd's bears out at Christmas because they are always so adorable, festive and inexpensive (at least if you get them from QVC like I do hehe) but usally just throw them into a paper gift bag or something similarly boring. I scavenged my craft room for a couple small baskets, found 1 that I liked how it was but also wanted to do 1 in white, so I just altered the one below--what a difference a few coats of paint make lol!
And who wants to buy expensive tissue paper with only a few sheets in it just 'cus it has a design on it?---NOT me! I like to make my own and the dollar store always had a huge package of it in plain white ready to hand stamp and customize to your hearts delight! For my tissue paper I used MCT's All Around Christmas, Classmates Valentines (bear w/ heart) and Everyday Crossword & Bingo (mini star). TIP- if you make your own, don't be skimpy--stamp alot all over it or it will look sparse and unfinished.

Mixed Holiday Sentiments stamp set for "Have a Beary Merry Chrismtas" and Fancy label and die set.

Supplies used: baskets, white paint, glitter, white tissue paper, stamps and ink of choice (here My Creative Time stamps, Stampin Up ink in Real Red and Bashful Blue), for the plastic pine sprigs, glitter star and berries I just bought some holiday florals and glittery strands in the wreath isle at Joann's then deconstructed them; Ribbon/trim, mini holiday boyd's bears, peppermint puffs
That's all my stuff for today!

The gift card holder die, x-large label die and scalloped circle/stitched circle dies make for fast production and Emma's stamp sets All Around Christmas and X-Large Label Borders coordinate perfectly--LOVE it! I used some old SU! holiday paper and inks in Real Read and Old Olive, some white cotton trim and a bling embellishment to finish each holder.  The white x-large label was cuttled with Divine Swirls.
