Everyday Miracle Mixed Media Tag

Hello my friends and happy day to you! I sure hope you have enjoyed the weekend and had some time to be creative because I just love seeing all the beautiful things y'all make! I was inspired today by a couple of specific super fabby artists out there in crafty-bloggy land. As I sipped my coffee and perused a few of my new favorite blogs, I came upon The Stampin Place and found this completely fabulous and inspiring Spring Mixed Media Journal that Karen made!!! She is such a talented gal and I {heart} her wonderful style! And of course, my daily visit over to Ink On My Fingers to see what amazingness Hels had in store for me, I found that she was asked to be the Creative Guide Guest at A Vintage Journey for week 2 and you simply must see her jaw-dropping altered SHADOW BOX, it's so incredible! Hels also invited us to go visit A Vintage Journey blog and check out their current challenge--Say It With Words! Well, that was just about all the inspiration I needed! Here's a look at my tag...
Entering this tag into the Paper Issues Challenge: In The Navy
I simply couldn't get my hands on some cardboard fast enough lol. This used to be a boring ol' box flap! I also cut another smaller piece of cardboard then tore off the front piece of paper on it and had the exposed corrugated cardboard waiting for me--I smooshed it down too much but it's ok because, hey--I like it! ;) I also got a chance to play a bit with my new FC Gelato's and am finding them to be wonderful! I have much to learn but I think I'm off to a good start with simple finger blending lol . This sentiment stamp is from Unity and I really like it. It also seems beach-tone colors appealed to me today as I was inspired by a fave book I read every year when it begins to get warmer. Because I'm a summer girl all the way and living in Seattle can get just a tad depressing during the winter months, so reading Summer Sisters by Judy Blume lifts my spirits every time~
I am entering my tag into the following challenges:
So much of my inspiration comes from artists such a Tim Holtz because my style has always been quite shabby/grunge-like. I do try to keep my work clean and simple sometimes because it's a challenge for me and something I have to strive to achieve.  An altered tag like this requires much less effort and planning for me. I sort of just let my creativity flow and see what happens and this is most enjoyable for me. Well, I am quite the chatty cathy today, aren't I?! haha. I better wrap it up. Thanks so very much for stopping by and I hope today holds a miracle just for you!

This is just fabulous! I particularly love the corrugations - how satisfying it is to turn a dull ol' piece of cardboard into something creative! And my daughter would approve of your choice of book, she loves Judy Blume!

Thanks for joining in at The Squirrel and the Fox!

love Mags B x

Just love the seaside colours of your gorgeous tag. What is the brown holey stuff near the bottom ? I am doing a fabric book of the sea and it looks like something I could use.
