Vintage Burlap Tree Ornaments

Hi friends! I'm trying to gear up for the holidays and today I made some vintage inspired tree shaped tags/ornaments to add to the tops of my vintage wrapped Christmas gifts that I'll be giving this year. I saw some great pinspiration for them here! I'm also entering these into the MoxieFab Challenge Blog- Tree-Mendous Trees! and the Try It On Tuesday Challenge Blog- Handmade/Homemade gift or decorations.
These are made from a recycled cardboard box cut into a basic tree shape and covered in burlap, then decorated with all sorts of buttons, charms, wood, metal, brads, sequins, lace trim, cheesecloth....all from my embellishment stash--these were so much fun to make! I hope you like them too!~
I made 5 trees in all keeping with the natural, white and mint color theme. For the tree trunks, I broke apart a couple popsicle sticks and layered an old cut up measuring tape along side the sticks for an old vintage-like feel.
I adhered the burlap to the cardboard base with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft GEL MEDIUM and added GESSO to areas of the trees and bits of the metal accent pieces for a bit of a worn look. I used the Metallic Mint Gelatos®  to color the burlap heart.

Here's a few close-ups of the old fashioned fun!
What do you think? Maybe you are inspired to clean out your stash and make some fun vintage decorations too! Whatever you do, make it a creative and very blessed day my friends! And thanks so much for stopping by!

Well I think they are amazing, Linsey. LOVE the vintagey, shabby chic look... very rustic and homey. And you've trimmed the trees so beautifully, just the right amount of details. Perfect. Came here by accident... but I'm following you now. Thanks for sharing your talent. Have a blessed day.
