Love Is A Canvas

Hi friends and happy 2015! I hope the new year is finding you well! I am working on reorganizing my craft room so that I can have the most productive and enjoyable creative year ever! I needed to make something just for fun and get my creative energy flowing after getting fully depleted from the busy holiday season~ here's what came of it.
I decided to enter it into this months Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #8-Try Something New For You. The stencil I used was brand new as are the Prima metal embellishments--paper over textured stenciling was a new technique for me as well.

I took some photos along the way....first I painted a small 6x6" stretched canvas with Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Chalk Board Paint.

Next I mixed together Whipped Spackle and Glass Bead Glitter Gel...

 ...and spread it over a new 6x6" script stencil from TCW.

Then I colored with Gelatos® and spritzed with water to create some color and interest...

I added White Gelatos around the canvas and smeared it with my finger...

Now I adhered a really cool Crafty Secrets Voltaire quote to my canvas with Gel Medium and added black Gelatos to create a very worn look and feel. I also added a bit more pink and green Gelatos along the top and spritzed with more water letting it drip down. Basically, I just got messy!! And it was fun!!

After adding some gold stamp paint to my canvas, I didn't care for it but it dried really fast so what's done is done haha! Finally, I added a few metal pieces to my canvas and I was done! I hope you like it! I really enjoyed the process~here are a couple close-ups...
