She Will Not Fail

Hello my friends and happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today I made another mixed media project--an 8x10 canvas board that will sent to a very special friend of mine. She is a wonderful woman, a daughter of God and a beautiful example of who I aspire to be more like every day. She also happens to be a fellow artist and is always super supportive of me and my artistic endeavors. I love her very much and feel so blessed that our paths have crossed. I've also designed it with the DecoArt Media Winter Wonderland Challenge in mind.  I hope you'll grab some of your favorite DecoArt Media products and join in the challenge too!
I first adhered some aqua tissue paper to the canvas board with Mod Podge, then, with a paintbrush, I laid Snow Tex down all over the canvas allowing bits of blue to show through still.
It dried overnight then I began layering 6x6 squares of frosty blue floral patterned paper and gold infused vellum papers, along with lots of various flowers, some painted with DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Acrylic Paint in White Pearl.
I had a cool little resin bird that I wanted to use on the canvas, but the flowers were a peach color, so I used a bit of DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint in Snow White to paint the flowers and they turned out a nice, chalky white that looks great with the shabby-chic theme.
Finally, I smeared DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Black Shimmer around the edges of the canvas and added this lovely Jamie Dougherty rub-on sentiment from her Creating in Faith collection.
And a few close-ups of all the yummy textures.....
layers of cheesecloth, flowers and all the trimmings....
Love finding old treasures from my stash to use on a project, like this whitewashed metal heart...
And the added yumminess of a Petaloo flower with the chunky glitter ice, natural twine and more cheesecloth, mmm....

Thanks so much for visiting me today! Keeping all my beautiful sisters (and brothers) in my thoughts and prayers! Have a creative and blessed day!
