Bliss Shadowbox Canvas

Hi friends and happy Friday once again! Today I switched things up and reversed a 6x6" canvas, turning it into a cute little shadowbox piece--fun!! I found that this came together almost too easily and I kind of love the result! I hope you enjoy it too!! :)
Like I said, I started with a plain white 6"x6" canvas with a 5/8" depth. I flipped it over and gave it a white wash of Gesso paint using my finger to gently smear over the raw wood and stapled canvas. Next I chose a few different scraps of my new Maggie Holmes Bloom paper collection, sponged around them with Black ink and glued to the inner base with Mod Podge. The center focal point with "her heart was a secret garden" encircled in the pretty sprig/leaf design is also from this collection. I cut a small piece of white chicken wire and hot glued that to the base. Then I put the sentiment on top of the chicken wire.  I cut a small piece of clear acrylic and placed it over the word "heart" and added an old vintage heart with roses, gluing that to the front as well.  ( I painted a layer of Mod Podge over the sentiment piece too.)  Then I added a small array of florals and greens to either side of the lower corners with natural twine tied into bows underneath. I finished with a pretty black/white chevron bow tied to the top and a Prima metal plate glued in the center.
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope that your heart is blooming with creativity and happiness!!! Have a wonderful and blessed weekend!!!
