DIY Embossed Planner Accents

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing my latest Craftwell inspiration with you here and over at the Craftwell blog! I've been playing around with the Teresa Collin's Love Triangles Embossing Folder, running different materials other than cardstock through the Cut'n'Boss machine to see how they look. I found something I liked by upcycling a piece of clear plastic and adding it to my July Summer-themed planner spread. I love finding new and fun things to included in my planner pages to make them more interesting. This one really hit the spot! Check it out...
Can you spot where I added the clear plastic triangles? It's always fun to put a clear dashboard of some kind in front of a colorful focal point for extra layering interest and texture. The Love Triangles Embossing Folder is right on trend and coordinates perfectly with all the different triangle accents on my Simple Stories Hello Summer papers and die cuts.
I also added a bit of black Stazon ink across the tops of the triangles on a smaller piece opposite the main side, creating contrast and even more interest.
Finally, I added a small scrap piece of the clear embossed triangles over the flamingo tag in the pocket.
Who's ready to hit the beach?! I sure am! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you've been inspired to find some scrap materials around your house and transform them into one-of-a-kind planner embellishments with the Cut'n'Boss too! Until next time, happy crafting!

Cool Shape and Sketch!

Hi ya'll! I think this shape and basic card design is just too cool and very versatile to! I saw it at http://www.papercraftsmag.com/. It measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2". Just round the bottom corners, choose 2-3 colors of cardstock and 1 coordinating designer/patterned paper and a fun stamp set--that's it! You can make the middle strip straight, tear it, or use shaped scissors like I did here with the scallops. I used my Coluzzle circle template for the main image bg or any cutting system will work great.

I stamped the heart, wings and crown in whisper white CRAFT pigment ink from SU!, then embossed the wings and crown in gold and the heart in red using fine embossing powders from SU! and Denami Design. I popped all images up on 3-d pop dots. That pretty cherub dp is from Basic Grey's "2 Scoops" line. I inked all edges in chestnut roan fluid chalk ink by ColorBox.

I hope that you're inspired to try this neat shape and sketch on one of your upcoming works of art! ~Hugs~
