Cherish Mixed Media Canvas

Hi friends! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the latter days of Summer :) I certainly am. I love this time of year--my blackberries are in full bloom and my tomatoes are finally red so I'll be busy canning jam and salsa this week, yay!
Today I'm sharing this 12x12 canvas board I created using a variety of mixed media elements. I must give full credit for the original inspiration behind this piece to an extraordinary artist I found over at YouTube who shared his crayon melting technique on his artwork. I loved it so much and was so very inspired, I had to try it myself! If you are inclined to try it too, you should certainly visit Dollar Store Artwork's YouTube channel and see his video titled "Crayon Art" that first inspired me--you won't be disappointed! Since I loved the person with an umbrella under the lamppost concept, I basically copied his design, except I sketched a girl instead of a man and after I did the melted crayon technique, I added a whole bunch of other things like paints, stamping, homemade spray mists and alcohol inks, rub-ons, stencils, chipboard, bling, washi tape...so as I worked, it became completely my own, as art tends to do. Not perfect, but me. :) And here's how it came out
Here's a closer up shot of the title...I still want to do something more with words but I can't figure out what so for now, this is it. Suggestions welcome! :D
And a little closer up shot of the my girl under the lamppost
Thanks so much for stopping by to see what I've been up to and letting me share! I hope you will stop by Dollar Store Artwork's YouTube Channel and get even more great inspiration from him! And don't forget to have a creative and blessed day!
