Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #38-Altered Embellishments!

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing some mid-month inspiration for the July Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #38-Altered Embellishments!
You have plenty of time to join in the mixed media fun too and I sure hope you will! I love being inspired by your beautiful creations, no matter what style/design they are! This month at the MMMC blog, our theme focuses on altering embellishments and the design team were blessed enough to receive some of the awesome new chipboard designed by Lynne Forsythe for UmWowStudio! I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed working/playing with these chippies. They are not flimsy and thin, they have some thickness, but not too much---just enough to stand up to all the mediums I used and to the abuse I put them through! UmWowStudio is also our awesome sponsor this month and is offering up an awesome $30 gift certificate + free shipping to 1 very lucky random participant of this month's MMMC#38-Altered Embellishments!
On to my project featuring the brand new Large Ivy by Lynne Forsythe!
See? I told you it stood up to some real abuse, lol! First I painted it all over with white gesso. After it dried, I went a bit nuts with Tattered Angels sprays and shimmer paints as well as some Teresa Collins metallic inks. I added microbeads and a wee dragonfly and put a bit of gold threading under the altered chippie. A few little bling gems and wooden sequins, Molly White Crochet Lace and an inspiring sentiment complete my mini burlap canvas.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you've found some inspiration in my project and I hope to see yours linked up over at the MMMC blog soon! Happy crafting!

It has so much texture and depth of colours that it's fabulous! I love the burlap and the texture it gives and the way you took a piece of shipboard and made it so rich in colour - gorgeous gorgeousness. Thank you for sharing how you did it too Karen x
