Moxie Fab Challenge "Textured to Perfection" NOT

So although I do like the final result of this card, I certainly don't feel like I textured it to perfection, which was my original goal when I began this one.  I was going to enter it in the current Moxie Fab challenge but I changed my mind because it simply is not textured enough.  Aw well, maybe next time lol :)
I will always love this gorgeous image and sentiment from Rupa Shevde's So Grateful set! I seriously need to get my Thanksgiving cards done asap and I will probably use this set for them all.  Rupa has the most beautiful Thanksgiving sentiments that coordinate with this and a few other lovely images. She makes it so easy, I love that! I cuttled the center with divine swirls, pierced along the scalloped border and added some wide satin ribbon and a vintage looking metal embellishment to balance the bottom cus it was looking very off--it also helped to add those 2 mini brads at the top. 3 narrow strips of scrap dp along the opposite side for a bit of color and done. Thank you so much for visiting, Happy Halloween and if you do not celebrate, Have a wonderful evening my creative friends!

So Grateful for The SCS Inspiration Challenge!

Hello, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I was able to create a few cards today, one of which is this one below. I used Stef's wonderful inspiration challenge #207 over at splitcoast. This week, we drew our inspiration from the fabulous Etsy shop of Aimoobaroo and her delightful fabic covered buttons! Specifically, I chose these lovely brocade fabric covered buttons for my card inspiration. The colors on these buttons are full of rich texture, really making them classic beauties. I used a deep rust cardstock against the ivory base for a contrast and also slid my tim holtz rich brown ink pad around every layer for more depth. These patterns are from some of last years Cosmo Cricket designs. This classic Thanksgiving set from Gina K. Designs is called So Grateful and was illustrated by the very talented and wonderful Rupa Shevde. I love every single set Rupa has ever created and this one is certainly no exception. The image was colored with a variety of SU! inks and blender pens and outlined with the cool grey no.1 Copic marker. The staked border along the bottom was done with some decorative scissors given to me by my great pal and fellow Clear Artistic Stamps designer, Wendi. She is such a sweetheart! :) thanks Wendi!

Thanks so much for visiting! have a wonderful Sunday and happy crafting

Thankful Thoughts

Hello friends. Wow, can't believe Thanksgiving is but a mere week away! The hustle and bustle of the holidays is most definitely alive in my house. I was looking through my collection of Thanksgiving stamps and came upon this lovely set from Stampin' Up! (I believe from 2006) and was drawn to it today. I felt the desire to color, which I often find theraputic, bringing me a sense of peace and quiet. I used several SU! inkpads and a blender pen for the main images and added crystal laquer and gold stickles to certain areas. I used Cosmo Cricket dp and a lot of rub-on stitching, which is great for those times when ya just don't feel like sewing hehe :)

Thanks so much for poppin' in! Have a wonderful and creative day!

A New Sweet 'N Sassy DT In 2009!

Have you heard the news!?! Korin over at Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps has announced her fabulous new Design Team for the first half of 2009! I applied and did not make the team, but I am so happy for this awesome group of talented artists whom will definitely be inspiring me to no end! A big congratulations to all of the lovely ladies who made the team!

And now I can share the cards I made for the dt call. I do not see them as rejects--I am proud of myself for trying out. I think that if you ever want to go for something, you should not let the fear of rejection stop you--you never know what opportunities may come from trying.

This card features an adorable ice skating duo illustrated by Rachel Anne Miller. They are from the 2008 Christmas collection.

My 2nd card features the darling Christmas Carolers, also from Rachel Anne Miller's Christmas 2008 Collection.

My last 2 cards feature stamps from Korin Sutherland's new Thanksgiving set called Turkey Day.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you have a great one and now I'm off to see what all you creative people are up to! :) xoxo
