Warm Holiday Wishes

Well I would have to say that the holiday season is unofficially upon us and I have a feelin' that it's not going to slow down one little bit! That's why I'm going to share these fun winter hat cards, which I created last year around this time and failed to ever get around to posting, haha! So these were super simple to make--let me know if in a comment if you're interested in the pattern (or, if it's strikes you, feel free to design your own using mine as inspiration) =)
The "snowball" top is probably noticablly the circle scallop punch from SU!, so that was pretty much a no-brainer. Decorating them is the funnest part! I went fairly simple with mine. I think there are so many more fun possibilities for decorating these, I just might have to make some more hehe Think of all the fantastic patterned papers that can be used or create your own pattern with any variety of stamps! The trim can be just as much fun with ribbons, sequins, rhinestones, gems, sewing, fur, velvet or other fabrics, etc...Your greeting and sentiment can also be done in many different ways and if you decide to create a card like this, I would love to see what you come up with too! :D

Merry Cupcake Ornaments

Hello and happy Tuesday! I made some felt ornaments over the weekend and am just posting them today...slackin' again haha. These fun cupcakes were totally simple to make too. I took my original cupcake card pattern (get yours HERE on Splitcoast) and traced it onto felt of choice, here pink and red for the cupcakes, caramel for the base. I then hand-stitched very elementary-like around the pieces, filling each piece up with cotton batting before stitching closed. I decorated mine with button (cherry), ribbons and rhinestones, however, there are lots more ways to decorate these fun little ornaments. When I posted them on SCS, I got some great feedback on other ways to decorate them including Bedazzle them, stitch additonal designs into them, add fabric glitter or glitter glue to them, add sequins, buttons, etc...lots of fun! :D

Don't forget to add a loop to the tops so they can be hung on a tree or tied to the tops of holiday gifts!

Candy Corn Cards

Hellooooooooo there my wonderfully crafty buddies!!! My goodness, Ive been away for far too long. I am truly amazed that I still have 108 followers, despite my lack of posting in the recent weeks. It is profoundly humbling and I'm so thankful for this most awesome community of stampers, scrapbookers and crafters--in essence, artists, whom I adore so much. You make me excited and inspired to create and it brings true joy to my life. THANK YOU.

Now for the first cards I've posted in a long time....Candy Corn cards lol! Aren't they just so silly and fun though haha.

I just made this simple pattern (measures, 4 3/4" L, 3 7/8" W at the base) shaped like a candy corn. One a verysturdy white cardstock, I then sponged summer sun through the middle portion of the card. Next, I sponged pumpkin pie and another lighter orange over the base, blending it into the yellow. I went a little blend-crazy on the one with a bite out of it, hehe (the other one is obviously more balanced). The tops are just left white. I was just experimenting with the bite (used the SU scalloped circle punch) and idk if I like it or not. I think I like the tag on the un-nibbled one better too--but there are so many cute ways to variate from this and I had fun playing around with them. The stamped sentiments are from Unity Stamp Co. This pattern is simple to draw, then trace ontowhite cardstock, but if anyone happens to want my pattern, I'm happy to email it to ya, just leave me your email addy in a comment if you're interested. Witch's Boot

Hi there! I hope you are having a great day! As I was flipping thru the Vicotorian Trading catalog, I came across an adorable witch's boot pincushion and thought, "hey, that would make a cute card"! So, this is what I came up with. This boot measures 5 1/2" wide x 5" tall and is super easy to make. Ice Cream Cone Cards

Hello friends! Today Summer officially begins--Yay! I'm a total summer girl and being in Seattle, it's always a long time comin'--so today I want to celebrate the beginning of the long, hot days to come with...ice cream cone cards!

These are super easy to make and fun fun fun!!! I used my wonderful Scor-Pal to create the criss cross stripes on my cones as well as the straight line across the base of th wider part. For toppings, the sky's the limit! I used some white foam paint, chunky white glitter and fine pink sherbert glitter--think sprinkles, candies and dipped cones....mmmmm! Anything!

These are very similiar to the cupcake cards I came up with a while ago. Here is the pattern to print for anyone interested in making some yummy cones of your own--any kind you want! Blue Enamal Camping Mug- Giftcard Holder!

Hehe, this was fun! I actually made this last week and posted it on SCS, but I just think it's darn cute, so I'm sharing it here too! I found this mug pattern back in Dec and made them into holiday cocoa holders--here, I used the same pattern to create a blue and white speckled camping mug--you know the ones, right? My brother's birthday is coming up and he loves to hunt, fish, camp, etc...so this is perfect to hold his REI giftcard in! And it just tickled the heck outta me when I realized that the splatter/speckle stamp from Stampin' Up!'s *Itty Bitty Backgrounds* would be what I needed to achieve the look on the mug---CooL! Frilly Apron Cards

Hello and happy Friday! I made these frilly apron cards earlier this week--you may have seen them over at SCS--or not. My inspiration for these came from my friend Maren's, more square and larger apron card from a shoebox swap that we met at a while back. I wanted to make mine girly and frilly and ended up drawing my own pattern, so please feel free to print it if you are so inclined.

These were lots of fun to make! I used my new stamps from The Unity Stamp Co.--the fronts are stamped in SU! real red and regal rose using the floral and polka dotted patterned stamps from Oh Happy Day! I added yummy dessert recipes to the backs of them too--1 for Cherry Cheesecake and the other for Strawberry Cream Pie, mmmm! I hope you like them and maybe even want to try 1 or 2 or your own! A Cheeseburger with Ketchup

Here I go again--another food card! I do believe that I may be obsessed! Julia's Ways To Use It challenge this week over at SCS was to use scissors in a a creative way, so I centered this one on cutting rather than stamping. Basically, everything is cut out on the cheeseburger card. I drew each piece so they can be put together separately--like build-a-burger! For those vegetarians out there this is a soy burger, of course! Feel free to copy my pattern, if you are so inclined. The ketchup bottle was created using the pattern provided at Mirkwood Designs. Thanks for the great pattern, Ruth Ann! A couple of notes if you try this:

1. I couldn't come up with anything spectacular to simulate a sesame seed bun top (other than real sesame seeds!) and I am not satisfied with mine. I'm sure many of you can think of something so let me know if you do.
2. Use a hole punch to make Swiss cheese! fun!

Look What Popped Up!

A toaster card! How silly, right? Well--I'm silly like that!!! I was inspired to make a 50's retro style toaster, but I'm not sure I achieved that look. I had so much fun with this though! I just took a standard white card and rounded the top corners, then secured the sides with double sided sticky tape. The toaster *lever*, if you will, was punched with my SU! designer label punch then folded in half. That little chef image is from Crafty Secrets. I lined the edges with my silver zig painty. The piece of toast was easy to draw and cut out, then I sponged around all edges with Chestnut Roan chalk ink. The sentiment on the pats of butter (at least, that's what I tried to make them look like) reads "Just popping up...to say hi!" I think this toaster card is fun--I hope you think so too! Time For A Pedicure!

Hello friends and happy Thursday! Today's challenge over at SplitCoast today is to find fun ways to use EYELETS!!! Click on Julia's Ways To Use It challenge to join in the fun too!

As you can see, I used eyelets to string the sheer dotted ribbon thru and create the top part of the flip flop. Boy, do I love my Crop-a-Dile (a Christmas gift from my wonderful Mom and Dad!) Anyone else wonder how they ever survived crafting without one? I used my old *Announcements* SU! set to make them invitations--say, to a pool party or beach party...I don't have a pool and I don't live near a beach, so I'm not sure what the heck I'm going to do with these, lol! I was thinking these could be cute just to send as a *Happy Summer* or *Get Ready For Flipflops!* greeting or how about, *Time For A Pedicure*, what do you think? Know how flip flops often have decorative flowers or bling on them nowadays....well Gina K.'s bling & dazzle flowers worked famously for that! I just attached them to the ribbon with a purple brad, a dot of lavendar stickles for sparkle and done! Cupcake Card

Hello and happy Sunday! Ok, all your comments on you favorite desserts made me drool to the point that nothing but sweets has been on my mind! Last night I wanted cupcakes so bad, but I didn't have all the ingredients-I did, however, have all the ingredients for cupcake cards! Still yummy and no calories--ok for now, but I'm still making real ones today after I go to the market.

I drew a cupcake base with a flip top, a baking "cup" and the cupcake top each seperately, so they could be decorated first, then put together (ending card is 3" tall). Quite easy and so much fun! I am happy to share this pattern with anyone interested, but I am an absolute lame brain when it comes to technical stuff--can't believe I ever figured out how to create this blog! The demand on SCS has already become way more than I expected and I can't keep up with requests for the pattern, SO...if you want it, this is the best way I've figured out how to get it**Click on the pattern and it will get bigger, then right click and save it or print it** I know there are other ways, much better ways and ones that make me look savvy rather than SAD! I am hopeless, I tell ya! If you think you can help explain how to make this available to folks in a better fashion, I welcome any input! Tart-n-Tangy Margaritas!

Hello! I have been in a creative slump this week, but when I got the idea for margarita glasses and SU! Tart-n-Tangy, I felt happy and inspired again. I made 6 of these summer party invitations--now I guess I have to plan a summer party! The glass I drew fits perfectly on a standard size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card or they could be used alone, with details on the backside. I used all SU! cardstock: wild wasabi, apricot appeal and pretty in pink--then I matched the ink as best I could using SU! green galore, groovy guava and regal rose. Those are Gina K bling and dazzle plastic flowers with sugarcoated brad centers. I like the pink cards the best and wouldn't it be nice for a champagne brunch invitation too? I think a stripe of dp would look great where I put ribbon and ric rac too and these could be varied to non-alcoholic drinks or different occasions such as congratulations (cheers), thank you (so sweet of you; you're sweet), or lets get together for drinks! Lots of possibilities! I am happy to email anyone who's interested the margarita glass pattern or I'll try to find a way to provide it here.
