Birthdays & Bugs!

Hello my friends! I hope you are enjoying your early Spring weekend--I sure am! It's gorgeous here in Seattle today and I just finished cleaning my craft room. Ahh....I love a nice clean craft room all ready for a fresh start to a new week (especially since it's a rare occasion that happens lol)! So today I made a card for the Crafty Secrets APRIL Linky Party. Are you a crafty vintage girl too? Pop over to Crafty Secrets Blog for all the deets! The owner Sandy picks a winner to receive $50 gift certificate to the store***W.O.W.Z.A ***This is so awesome--I mean, who doesn't love the idea of more Crafty Secrets yumminess!! Once again, I inked up a birthday greeting from my favorite CS stamp set called Sweet Kids, now available as a digi set. I had fun creating the background with my homemade alcohol inks. The base was cuttled with one of Anna Griffin's brand new embossing plates (so gorg!)  I've also joined in last minute for the Tombow Birthday challenge hosted by the delightful Melissa Cash. This card is not new, but I wanted to add it anyway just for fun and to let Melissa know that I wish her a very happy belated birthday! :)
I've also just begun making these little buggers and I am already in a state of beaded bug bliss! Ah...finally something to do with all these beads from when I went on my ill-fated jewelry making adventure a while back! And I like how they go with my homemade satin flowers :) This is my first, a super simple dragonfly. These are fun and easy to make and of course, the possibilities are endless for designs--butterflies, ladybugs, fireflies, bumble bees, shimmery moths...just think of all the things with wings lol! If you have beads and don't know what to do with em, give this a try! Find all kinds of beaded bug inspiration on Pinterest!
I'm submitting both my card and bead bug for the:
Why not join in too?! C'mon make something from old or recycled items/alter something, whatever! Use your imagination and let yourself be free--then submit it to the Papercrafter's Corner link above by April 19th--there are prizes too!!! Hope you will join in the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Here's wishing you a creative and blessed day!
