Spring Has Sprung!

Well maybe not officially, but it's certainly official over at SplitcoastStampers because tonight is the first 5 challenges for the Spring Has Sprung VSN (Virtual Stamp Night)! I joined in 2 of the challenges so far and intend to finish the rest for tonight, then I'll be all ready for Saturday's VSN--10 Spring challenges and a whole day full of Spring stamping inspiration and fun! Hope you will play along too! We have until Monday to submit our challenge creations for prizes! Itt's a breath of fresh, Spring air!

Laissez le bon temps rouler!

translation...Let The Good Times Roll! Hello and happy weekend!!! I know it's a bit early to start celebrating Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday falls on Feb. 21st) but when I saw this week's challenge over at A Muse Studio's Challenge Blog, make a card/project with the traditional colors of Mardi Gras, PURPLE-YELLOW/GOLD-GREEN, I simply had to join in the fun! Then I saw the new "Cooking With Cricut" challenge #73 using a really great sketch and Boom! That was all the inspiration I needed. So here is my card for these 2 aforementioned challenges and I hope YOU will join in the fun too!!

In addition to the sketch, you must choose any 3 of 9 different embellishments to add to your card, mine being brads, stickles and fibers/ribbon. The Cricut cut I used is from the Sentimentals cartridge and I found it to be perfect for Mardi Gras theme. "Celebrate" sentiment from MCT Teeny Tag Greetings

Shape Up!

Hello friends, today I made this card for Angie's Shaped Card Challenge at My Unity Place.  This is a fun one peeps, I hope you find some time to play along too, it's open all through November! I used the Wild Card cartridge to cut this cool ornament shaped card with my trusty Cricut (measures 5 1/4").  Re-cut the ornament on white and Cuttlebugged it with Divine Swirls folder.  Stamped Almighty God from Unity Stamp Co. in whisper white pigment ink, then heat embossed it and the chipboard heart in gold. That striped designer paper seems a nice contrast to the white ornament. I embellished with red and tiny clear rhinestones and a sheer white ribbon with gold trim.

Heat Embossing:  Inked sentiment and chipboard heart with white pigment ink (Stampin Up!) and gold embossing powder (Stampin Up!) , Darice heat gun to set powder. Easy and pretty element to any handmade card!

Moxie Fab Challenge "Textured to Perfection" NOT

So although I do like the final result of this card, I certainly don't feel like I textured it to perfection, which was my original goal when I began this one.  I was going to enter it in the current Moxie Fab challenge but I changed my mind because it simply is not textured enough.  Aw well, maybe next time lol :)
I will always love this gorgeous image and sentiment from Rupa Shevde's So Grateful set! I seriously need to get my Thanksgiving cards done asap and I will probably use this set for them all.  Rupa has the most beautiful Thanksgiving sentiments that coordinate with this and a few other lovely images. She makes it so easy, I love that! I cuttled the center with divine swirls, pierced along the scalloped border and added some wide satin ribbon and a vintage looking metal embellishment to balance the bottom cus it was looking very off--it also helped to add those 2 mini brads at the top. 3 narrow strips of scrap dp along the opposite side for a bit of color and done. SCS Featured Stamper Sunday!

Okay, so technically it's Monday--stamping is good for insomnia ;) This week Michelle Pearson was the Featured Stamper HERE at Splitcoast and a well deserved title indeed! Her gallery is beautiful, take a PEEK for yourself! After perusing through Michelle's stunning cards, I finally chose to case her sweet Christmas Snowman card. I used her Christmas theme and card layout, but changed my embossed bg from snowflakes to swiss dots and inked up Warm & Cozy Christmas by Gina K. Designs, colored in with Copic markers and finished with 2 buttons and a bit of gingham trim.

Gettin' Sketchy with MFT

Hi! I made a card today using this fun sketch from MFT's Wednesday Stamp club. I have been in a long running creative funk and after gazing in awe at all the dt members samples today, I was so totally inspired that I decided to whip up one of my own using Snow Bunny Flopsey. Cuttling New Baby and Wild Hearts

Hello my crafty peeps! Today I'm sharing a couple of cards I made before I went to Chicago last week--returned home last night and I'm so happy to be sitting here at my craft table posting this morning. I can't wait to visit your blogs to see all the creative things you've been up to over the past few days!

First, this simple baby card. It has a cream base with a white background. Using my Cuttlebug, I embossed the bg with the swiss dots folder, one of my very favorites--seriously I'm addicted to this folder and I use it constantly! This stamp from Stampin' Up set So Many Scallops continues to be favorite of mine and fits perfectly with their scalloped circle punch. I stamped the image in bashful blue and added a coordinating wide blue/white dotted grosgrain ribbon around the layered strip, along with a couple MM safety pins and a metal heart embellishment. For a bit o sparkle, the top corner has 3 baby blue bling gems.

Next, I made this heart shaped card and matching envelope using my Cricut Expression and Wild Card cartridge. LOVE this cartridge---love love love it!!! Wild Card contains tons of specialty shaped cards and has a matching envie for each one, but also has so much many goodies, including a fabulous alphabet font and 2 shadow box templates! Did I mention that I love this cartridge?? ;) The paper is from K and Co. floral dreams collection (JoAnn's), which makes for stunning cards and envelopes with very little effort. Many of the papers in this stack are textured and have special metallic highlights. Absolutely gorgeous!

Bouquet Of Love and Kisses

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I made a little valentine using this darling bouquet of hearts from Unity Stamps. I added 2 rhinestone stars and 1 bling-n-dazzle flower to spruce up my love bouquet. The "Kisses" word is a single stamp from Imaginisce's Love Me collection. The white base was cuttled with the swiss dots embossing folder. A red sheer ribbon down the center an done! :)
