Shabby and Distressed Gift Bag... but don't despair!

Happy Monday friends, hope you had a great weekend! Did my title throw you? It sounds like I was gettin ready to show you a pretty sad little gift bag, haha. But really, I was in a vintage-type mood today anyway so when I saw the  The Outlawz Monday Greetings Challenge--do not stress, distress! I was inspired and decided to make a shabby-chic style gift bag w/ coordinating tissue paper and a perfect sized vanilla candle to fit inside. Distressing takes away any need for perfection and I love it! I stamped this toile background stamp from Unity Stamp Co in Blush Blossom on the white gift bag (12 for $1 at Dollar Tree) and tissue paper, then embellished with Prima roses (I get my Prima flowers at Scrapbooking.com because they seem to be the cheapest!),  ivory lace trim from Fancy Pants and a white heart pin from my friend Lee :)
Vintage image and sentiment from Crafty Secrets stamp set called Sweet Kids and they are so sweet!
I will be entering my gift bag into the following challenges:
(I hope this qualifies!...even though I used peach, I did not use any pink)

Thank you so very much for stopping by, it means a lot to me! Hugs and happy crafting!

Chelsea's Dream

Actually, I should title my card "Linsey's Dream" lol, the lovely Chelsea with her chicks digi from Sassy Studio Designs is sitting in what looks like a dream to me! This paper from Webster's Pages from the Spring Market collection (Your Life. Beautiful.) is so gorgeous, I didn't have to do much more than color Chelsea and pop her onto the scene. I added a black rub-on and a clear cirle sticker atop the clock on the tower for a bit of dimension along with the rosettes tapering down the vintage ivory trim from Fancy Pants to fill in that rather empty corner, that's about it!
                                       Such a pretty girl!
 A couple close ups
There is still plenty of time to join in the Sassy Studio Designs challenge "Spring Break-Anything Goes" over at PaperCraftPlanet so I hope you do!
I'm entering this card for:
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic Friday! xoxo

A tisket, a tasket...a Woven Paper Basket!

Hello and happy Friday! With Easter just around the corner, I was inspired to create this woven Easter basket using a most wonderful tutorial by Miss Deb Felts over at Papercraft Planet. It really was not the daunting task I first thought it would be and Deb makes it very simple with her fabulous WOVEN BASKET TUTORIAL. I think the results are well worth the effort and it was a very enjoyable project to make!

I wanted to show a view of the inside of my basket so you can see how easy and pretty it is when you use a nice double-sided patterened paper. The papers I chose were Fancy Pants Designs "Garden Gate" from the Lilac House collection and Prima "Ferrulle" from the Alla-Prima collection. All off my stripes were inked with Bashful Blue SU! ink.

My Creative Time has the perfect sentiment for just about any project and I can't seem to ever go wrong with Teeny Tag Greetings stamp and stitched layer die set. With a bit of bakers twine and vintage ivory lace, along with 2 turquoise bling jewels, I think this tag is done! :)

And well, I just couldn't resist adding a few beautiful Prima roses to adorn the front of my basket--all I have to do is stick em on anything and they look exquisite!!!
I'm entering my woven paper basket into the following challenge:
The Papercraft Star challenge #90- Easter, a duck, a chick or an egg! (even though none are included on my basket, it is an Easter basket so I think it qualifies and if not, no worries) ;)
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and if you make a woven basket, please be sure to let me know--I would love to see it! xoxo

Camping and Shopping...2 things I {heart}

Hey hey and happy Tuesday! I'm sharing a tag and a card today, each very different, yet both involve things I love to do---let's hear it for camping and shopping! whoo hoo!!! :D
My camping tag was made for the Pause Dream Enjoy TAG challenge #10-create a tag with your last or next vacation in mind--fun huh! Since I haven't had a legit vaycay in longer than I'd care to think about, I decided to make a tag with my next vacation in mind....hopefully, if the weather holds out for Memorial Day 2012! It usually ends up raining on my camping parade for Memorial Day weekend, but when the weather has cooperated, camping in Packwood WA for the big Memorial Day weekend car show and flea market is great fun. I love strolling through the flea market, sometimes finding a treasure or two, although much of it is the typical junk that common vendors peddle hehe....enjoyable nonetheless and I'm hoping that it will be a warm and sunny holiday weekend this year....with that in mind, here is my "happy campers" vacation tag!
I think I used all but 1 stamp in this fun camping set from Penguin Pants stamps cus I stamped all the little accesories onto the twill and made a little camping scene complets with marshmellows roasting for smores, yummers!!

So actually my next project is not either a tag or a card...I'm not yet sure what catagory it will fall under haha, but I had a great time coloring this sassy diva MADISON ATTITUDE from Kenny K Downloads for the CRAFTY GIRLZ BLOG Challenge # 86- FUN AND GAMES and let's face it, what's more fun that shopping, am I right!
I heated up a bit of liquid applique to her jacket trim in an attempt to create a "faux fur" effect, then added diamond stickles to Madison's boots, scarf and belts. I think I overdid it on her blush, poor Maddy lol!

Look isn't this sentiment perfect for a shopping
diva like Miss Madison?! I think so! It's from
My Creative Time and the set is called Classy and Fabulous, created by Emma who
is a most classy and fabulous lady herself!
I'm also entering my Madison Attitude creation for:
PaperCrafting Journey PCJ challenge #5- Pretty Pastels
That's all for me today and thanks so much for stopping by! Big hugs and smiles!!! XOXO

Groovy Tuesday!

Hey there! I've been a little lax on blogging the past few days, sorry! I plan to catch up this evening to see what everyone's been up to. I had some time to play with my new MFT Al'a Mode stamp set called Groovy Girl along with some of my new Prima paper, flowers and trim--yummyness! I will enter this into a few challenges at the bottom of my post.

Isn't she darling! I especially love that coloring her does not overwhelm me! This set comes with 5 totally groovy sentiments--so much fun!
