Cooking With Cricut Challenge #82- National Card and Letter Writing Month!
Happy Wednesday and welcome to another wonderful Cooking with Cricut challenge! It is National Card and Letter Writing Month and so our challenge to you is to create something for yourself or someone else in the spirit of writing letters, the old fashioned way! With the speed of technology today, this may be a true challenge for some, but I remember the good ol' days of pen-pals and enchanging letters with my bff in California for many years very fondly. Nothing compares!
I made a traditional stationary set for my 4 year old niece, Hannah. Although her letter writing skills may not yet be the most sophisticated, I hope it will encourage her to use her pretty butterfly stationary for whatever her little heart desires, practice her alphabet or even draw a picture! I love the idea of my sister helping her address a letter and sending it off in the mail- signed, sealed and delivered :)
I made my stationary set with the Tie The Knot cartridge (stationary paper, butterflies, sponged the negative image of butterfly in the corner of each envelope, 2 ea in matching colors with the stationary)
Paper for stationary holder: Webster's Pages "Your Life. Beautiful.", sentiment from My Creative Time
I hope you will join in our challenge this week and inspire someone you know to write a letter! And you might be our next Top Chef if you do! Visit the Cooking With Cricut blog for more crafting ideas and challenge details. Thanks for visiting and have a creative day!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #81- Card Outreach
Happy Wednesday and welcome to another Cooking With Cricut challenge. It was so awesome to see all the fabulous Easter creations that were cooked up last week--choosing our Top Chefs will be hard! This week's challenge #81 is a card outreach--translation: create an encouraging, thinking of you or just plain happy card for 2 girls battling Cancer. Emily is 6 and Patty is 13, so I wanted my cards to be age appropriate. Here's what I made for the girls...

Emily's card
cartridge used: Paisley
Patty's card
cartridges used: Plantin Schoolbook (roly poly stars), Once Upon A Princess (Rock Star)
stamps from My Favorite Things Ala Mode "Rock Star" set
stamps from My Favorite Things Ala Mode "Rock Star" set
I love card making even more when it's for a cause! Both girls have a short bio at the CWC blog and if you are inspired to cook up something this week for Miss Emily or Miss Patty, or even both, please visit the Cooking With Cricut Blog for details and mailing info. Wouldn't it be NEAT if these courageous young ladies recieved all kinds of cheerful handmade greetings from crafters everywhere?!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day~

Hello friends, I'm making this card for the Wobble Wednesday challenge #4- Birthday's just in time. My card is also for a little boy named Justin who is battling terminal Cancer and he will turning 9 years old this Friday. I sure hope he likes dancin' dinosaurs! April Showers and Maybe Some Flowers!
Hi friends! I've made a card today for a few challenges and just for fun! I thought this Cricut cut from my Give A Hoot cartridge was so cute--I wish I could give a card to my flower bed! My tulips and daffodils are so darn confused this year, they bloomed a bit early when it became warm and then died when it snowed again, and again...poor things! And poor me--I usually have a beautiful bouquet of fresh tulips from my garden in a vase for Easter--looks like I'll be buyin a bunch from Safeway this year! lol
Anyhoo, here's my card!
This wonderful sentiment is from My Creative Time's "Happy Hunting" stamp set and I love it!
I'll be entering this card for the following challenges:

I knew I had to use this furry cutie from Mamie Doodle Designs before Easter and it was perfect for The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Digi challenge, to make a card with a digi image and Easter theme, ta-dah! Miss Emma's sentiment "You're egg-straordinary" is from My Creative Time's Happy Hunting stamp set. I cut the scalloped circle card and layers from Wild Card cartridge, an oldie but always a goodie! :)
Thanks for popping in today! Hugs and smiles to all! XOXO

Camping and Shopping...2 things I {heart}
Hey hey and happy Tuesday! I'm sharing a tag and a card today, each very different, yet both involve things I love to do---let's hear it for camping and shopping! whoo hoo!!! :D
My camping tag was made for the Pause Dream Enjoy TAG challenge #10-create a tag with your last or next vacation in mind--fun huh! Since I haven't had a legit vaycay in longer than I'd care to think about, I decided to make a tag with my next vacation in mind....hopefully, if the weather holds out for Memorial Day 2012! It usually ends up raining on my camping parade for Memorial Day weekend, but when the weather has cooperated, camping in Packwood WA for the big Memorial Day weekend car show and flea market is great fun. I love strolling through the flea market, sometimes finding a treasure or two, although much of it is the typical junk that common vendors peddle hehe....enjoyable nonetheless and I'm hoping that it will be a warm and sunny holiday weekend this year....with that in mind, here is my "happy campers" vacation tag!
I think I used all but 1 stamp in this fun camping set from Penguin Pants stamps cus I stamped all the little accesories onto the twill and made a little camping scene complets with marshmellows roasting for smores, yummers!!
So actually my next project is not either a tag or a card...I'm not yet sure what catagory it will fall under haha, but I had a great time coloring this sassy diva MADISON ATTITUDE from Kenny K Downloads for the CRAFTY GIRLZ BLOG Challenge # 86- FUN AND GAMES and let's face it, what's more fun that shopping, am I right!
I heated up a bit of liquid applique to her jacket trim in an attempt to create a "faux fur" effect, then added diamond stickles to Madison's boots, scarf and belts. I think I overdid it on her blush, poor Maddy lol!
Look isn't this sentiment perfect for a shopping
diva like Miss Madison?! I think so! It's from
My Creative Time and the set is called Classy and Fabulous, created by Emma who
is a most classy and fabulous lady herself!
I'm also entering my Madison Attitude creation for:

A Frilly, Flowery Spring Tag & A Circle Challenge!
Happy Monday! I made a Spring tag for a new blog I found called Pause Dream Enjoy- 52 Tags! thanks to a new blogging buddy Elaine. She has a blog full of wonderful creations, Expressions By Elaine--thanks so much Elaine! Pause Dream Enjoy is dedicated to TAG challenges, which = FUN! This week is Frills & Flowers (Challege #8, Week 8) and what better way to celebrate these lovely elements than with Spring! Oh gosh, I can't wait for the warmer days to come--I can feel em, they're right around that ice covered corner! I'm seriously counting down the days til daylight savings time begins again! Ok, here's my tag!
All cuts are from Once Upon A Princess Cricut cartridge (tag, chick and paper roses)
"Birthday Wishes" from MCT Teeny Tag Greetings best sentiment set ever in my humble opinion
tag base cuttled with Stylized Flowers embossing folder, chick with Swiss Dots, aqua paper DCWV, other: Provo Craft Neutrals paper palette collage pad, sponging Summer Sun SU!, small/lrg oval punches SU!, diamond stickles, prima flowers, teal bling Creative Impressions, velvet, grosgrain ribbon and lace trim all from Joann's

Monkeyin' Around
Hello friends, today I made my card for the Love's To Crop challenge and Amy's challenge this week is a color challenge ORANGE-PINK-OTHER COLOR. I also joined in my first challenge with Paper Playtime, challenge #68 "Say It With Sentiments Challenge using Pet Images! Now, my beagle Maddie is my fur baby but she can definitely be my little monkey sometimes too! And since the ladies over at Cooking With Cricut looked like they were having so much fun monkeyin around, I chose a monkey for my "pet" hehe!
I went bananas when I found this super fun sentiment from my Unity Stamps collection!
And I just had to make my monkey wiggle it just a little bit, with another wiggle wire attachment--now this lil guy can shake his "monkey" maker! lol I'm proud to say that my flowers are all veryyy old SU! die cuts and paper primas and some equally ancient epoxy stickers, trimmed them to make tiny flowers in the centers, and made the white flower from a 1" circle scrap. I love using old supplies cus I don't have to be so careful and scared to use them--I'm stingy with my "good stuff" sometimes and crafting seems so much more enjoyable when you don't have to worry about a thing, just free yourself and CREATE! Love it.
Thanks so much for hangin out! Happy Mardi Gras!!! Homemade Jambalaya for dinner tonight yummm!

Laissez le bon temps rouler!
translation...Let The Good Times Roll! Hello and happy weekend!!! I know it's a bit early to start celebrating Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday falls on Feb. 21st) but when I saw this week's challenge over at A Muse Studio's Challenge Blog, make a card/project with the traditional colors of Mardi Gras, PURPLE-YELLOW/GOLD-GREEN, I simply had to join in the fun! Then I saw the new "Cooking With Cricut" challenge #73 using a really great sketch and Boom! That was all the inspiration I needed. So here is my card for these 2 aforementioned challenges and I hope YOU will join in the fun too!!
In addition to the sketch, you must choose any 3 of 9 different embellishments to add to your card, mine being brads, stickles and fibers/ribbon. The Cricut cut I used is from the Sentimentals cartridge and I found it to be perfect for Mardi Gras theme. "Celebrate" sentiment from MCT Teeny Tag Greetings
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a FABULOUS weekend friends!

A Wiggle It, Just a Little Bit Fantasy Land Challenge with Getting Cricky!
Wow, just the title alone is a mouthfull lol! This was such a fun combo of challenges, I might even make another one! I made the card below for K. Andrews Getting Cricky challenge HERE and turned it into a "two-fer" using the fabulously fun Wiggle-Wire Tuesday Tutorial provided by Amy at Love's To Crop HERE! You should definitely try a wiggle wire card too, it's super easy and adds a whole lotta wiggly fun to any ordinary card!
Cricut cartridge used for unicorn: Once Upon A Princess; white scroll frame: Storybook; S
And yet another reason I ADORE Teeny Tag Greetings and the AWESOME My Creative Time, this sentiment worked perfectly for the "fantasy land" theme--simply magical!!!
Trying to show you my homemade wiggle wire below--not as sophisticated as Miss Amy's, but hey it's my first! I'll get more refined with some practice hehe :)
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you've been inspired to join in some fun challenges and try a new technique like I did! Happy crafting friends!

A Hoppy Valentine Pop-Up Card
Happy Thursday friends! I'm pretty sure the groundhog saw his shadow in Seattle, even though the weather has been sunny and fair, 10 days ago we were snowed in so I won't get my hopes up just yet ;) I've been wanting to use up some scraps and the Cricut is obviously perfect for this--Paisley was calling to me, with all of it's fun animals, I chose the cute frog and decided to make it a pop up card for a lil more "ummphh"!
I realized that one of MCT's stamps from the Classmate Valentine's set has this super perfect valentine sentiment to match mr frog! hooray!!!
