Vintage Halloween Altered Cupcake Tin

Hi friends and happy Friday! I'm up at the Simple Stories Blog today sharing my latest altered Simple Stories project with you! Have you ever altered a cupcake tin? I've been wanting to for quite sometime now and I finally did it! I love how this cute little piece turned out and it's just in time for Halloween too! If you haven't gotten your crafty hands on the darling new Simple Vintage Halloween Collection yet, I sure hope you'll want to after seeing this spooktacular showcase!
There's a few different choices when it comes to cupcake tins. Depending on what your project is, you can get a 6, 12 or even a 24 slot tin. The more slots, the smaller they are. For this project, I chose to alter a 6 slot tin. First, spray paint cupcake tin in black inside and out. Let dry, spray paint 2nd layer and let dry again. Next, line inside of each slot with black lace trim. Now our tin is ready to begin decorating! The circle die cuts in the Bits & Pieces are a perfect fit to adhere to the wall of each slot.
Create a main title and build the scene adorable images from the 6x12 Chipboard and Combo Stickers. The smaller images from 4x6 Stickers are just right for the insides of the cupcake slots. Add dimension to some pieces with 3D Foam Squares.

Embellish with extra accents like ribbon, sequins, bling trim, enamel dots, etc. The imagination is the limit! I couldn't help but fill in just about every nook and cranny of my cupcake tin! So. Much. Fun.
Don't forget that there's much more to this darling and festive collection! The 12x12 Collection Kit and 3 Pack Washi Tape is a must-have for any Halloween-loving crafter or planner! For me, another perk to this collection is that it's not too scary or creepy. It's much more on the cute and sweet side, which I love. It's a great collection for the young and the young at heart! I think this will be a super cute addition to this years Halloween décor!
And that's all for me! Thank you so much for stopping by and allowing me to share my project with you today! I've enjoyed it so much and I hope you have been inspired to create something fabulous with the Simple Vintage Halloween Collection too! Until next time, happy crafting!

Cupcake Card

Hello and happy Sunday! Ok, all your comments on you favorite desserts made me drool to the point that nothing but sweets has been on my mind! Last night I wanted cupcakes so bad, but I didn't have all the ingredients-I did, however, have all the ingredients for cupcake cards! Still yummy and no calories--ok for now, but I'm still making real ones today after I go to the market.
I drew a cupcake base with a flip top, a baking "cup" and the cupcake top each seperately, so they could be decorated first, then put together (ending card is 3" tall). Quite easy and so much fun! I am happy to share this pattern with anyone interested, but I am an absolute lame brain when it comes to technical stuff--can't believe I ever figured out how to create this blog! The demand on SCS has already become way more than I expected and I can't keep up with requests for the pattern, SO...if you want it, this is the best way I've figured out how to get it**Click on the pattern and it will get bigger, then right click and save it or print it** I know there are other ways, much better ways and ones that make me look savvy rather than SAD! I am hopeless, I tell ya! If you think you can help explain how to make this available to folks in a better fashion, I welcome any input! I am thrilled that people like it so much, thanks for all of your sweet comments! ~hugs and happy Stamping~

Sweet n Sassy Inspiration Challenge- Cupcakes & Cocoa

Hi friends! This card is for the Sweet n Sassy Stamps Inspiration Challenge #12 found HERE. It was very inspiring indeed and so much fun! I love the yumminess of this 0 calorie cupcake inspiration!

I wanted a winter card so I inked up the big mug from Sweet n Sassy's "Warm Up" set and re-stamped it onto a scrap of patterned paper I liked. I used the "whipped cream" topping to make it a cupcake top instead and made an easy cupcake base from another piece of scrap dp. I sponged a big of creamy caramel (SU!) and distressed the edges of the image frame. Cuttlebugged the blue base with swiss dots embossing folder then had fun with embellishments, as you can see :) Hope you play along too, it goes all month long! Thanks so much for visiting me. Have a creative day!

Merry Cupcake Ornaments

Hello and happy Tuesday! I made some felt ornaments over the weekend and am just posting them today...slackin' again haha. These fun cupcakes were totally simple to make too. I took my original cupcake card pattern (get yours HERE on Splitcoast) and traced it onto felt of choice, here pink and red for the cupcakes, caramel for the base. I then hand-stitched very elementary-like around the pieces, filling each piece up with cotton batting before stitching closed. I decorated mine with button (cherry), ribbons and rhinestones, however, there are lots more ways to decorate these fun little ornaments. When I posted them on SCS, I got some great feedback on other ways to decorate them including Bedazzle them, stitch additonal designs into them, add fabric glitter or glitter glue to them, add sequins, buttons, etc...lots of fun! :D
Don't forget to add a loop to the tops so they can be hung on a tree or tied to the tops of holiday gifts!
Thanks so much for visiting me and have a fabulous day my friends! Happy crafting xoxo

Hip Hop with Unity

Ah, Thursday is upon us--the best day of the week in my personal opinion. Not only is it Survivor night, but it's also Hip Hop Unity day, whoo hoo! Angela is sure to have a boat load of fabulous deals, just as she does every week, so make sure to start the blog hop HERE and see what she has up her pretty little sleeve!
Did you see what the amazing CHRISTI has for you today? Wow--what a tremendous talent that gal is!!!

I decided to show off some of Unity's stamps with these little handstitched felt ornaments. I cut out the mitten and primitive heart patterns from cream and chocolate felt and used deep red stitching to make the colors pop more. The snowflake and Jesus phrase are both from Unity's September 08 Kit Of The Month, which is still available for purchase! The were stamped on sparkey red cardstock in white craft, then embossed with silver hologram highligts from SU. Each ornament is adorned with a variety of buttons and vintage lage and ribbon, along with a silver threaded loop and these are ready to hang.

And I just had to make some of my cupcake cards for Christmas--I know you've probably seen these before, but not all dressed up and festive for the holidays! This one is topped with the darling little Gingerbread House from Bitty Christmas. These were as fun as ever and if you want to make some Christmas cupcake cards too, you can find the links to 3 different sizes plus coordinating boxes for them!
I hope you enjoyed my projects today. Thank you so much for visiting! Keep hip hopping over to the mega-watt fabulous MAREN and be stunned by the immense inspiration she has for you! Then party with us all day and night at the Unity Forum at SCS! Hugs and happy hip hop!

Cupcake-y Luv

Hello, happy Wednesday! I joined in the fun of today's SCS sketch challenge--it was a nice, simple sketch (originally designed by miss Krysti Lee) just perfect for my mood and this is what I came up with.

I'm completely loving my friend Jennifer Meyer's new stamp line called Stamps and Smiles--she is so talented and inspiring and I just adore her! This image is lots of fun to color and I will be playing with it much more to see all the different ways it can be decorated--who doesn't love to decorate yummy cupcakes, right! This frosting turned out to look a bit lit sherbet, which wasn't my intent, but that's the fun of being able to make it anything at all--endless possiblities! Thanks so much for visiting me and have a super sweet day!

I love this ribbon so much! It's so cute! Look at those tiny hearts on the diamond pattern...eep! Just so pretty and coordinates with all sorts of things! I love how it forms into these sweet little bows so easily too! :)

Bunnies and Cupcakes and Birthdays, Oh My!

Hi friends, here's my card for this week's TEAPOT TUESDAY CHALLENGE #186Birthday cards with bunnies and cupcakes, frosting and sprinkles galore!!! Click on the link above to play along too and this week we are sending our blank birthday cards w/ envelope to Albany Medical Center Childrens ward in New York--it's a good thing but totally optional! Find the DESTINATION STATION info HERE :)
Cupcake Flopsey from MFT was perfect for this challenge! I kept the embellishments minimal for non-bulky mailing--just a bit of stickles n bling for sparkle and oops--I forgot to light Flopsey's birthday candle! I tried to make a card that might be good for a boy or girl since these cards are going to the nurse's on the children's ward for the kids birthdays.
Thanks so much for poppin over! I love it when you visit me and I wish you a day filled with happiness and creativity!

Ice Cream Cone Cards

Hello friends! Today Summer officially begins--Yay! I'm a total summer girl and being in Seattle, it's always a long time comin'--so today I want to celebrate the beginning of the long, hot days to come with...ice cream cone cards!
These are super easy to make and fun fun fun!!! I used my wonderful Scor-Pal to create the criss cross stripes on my cones as well as the straight line across the base of th wider part. For toppings, the sky's the limit! I used some white foam paint, chunky white glitter and fine pink sherbert glitter--think sprinkles, candies and dipped cones....mmmmm! Anything!
These are very similiar to the cupcake cards I came up with a while ago. Here is the pattern to print for anyone interested in making some yummy cones of your own--any kind you want! So, what's you favorite flavor? Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate....??? I would love to hear! Thanks for visiting me today, my friends! Have a fantastic weekend and Happy Summer! Whoo hoo!
P.S. Please come to the Big Gina K. Designs Release Party tonight at SCS from 7-10 pm, CST (that's 5-8pm for us on the west coast!) It's going to be SO much fun-tons of new sneak peeks, contests, chatter and of course, FREE stamp giveaways!!!

It's A Bake-Off!

Ok, I'm way behind this week on my posts and my comments! I will be catching up on my inspiration this weekend ladies--I know you all have great new things at your blogs! I made this card for 2 challenges: one is Roxie's sketch challenge at SplitcoastStampers, which was hosted by the fabulous Shelly (aka: Papermoon04) and the also for the super fun Bake-Off challenge over at SHARON'S BLOG! Check them both out and join the fun too! I used this adorable Bella image that a super sweet lady named AMY sent me cuz I won her blog candy giveaway, she is the sweetest! For the candy on top, I used a white *sugarcoated* brad by Doodlebug Designs, which Amy sent me a whole pack of...those things are too cool! After coloring the image using a blender pen and markers, I went over the cupcake with diamond stickles, then popped it on dimensionals. Those pink xoxox strips and the circle sentiment are from a another blog candy giveaway I won from ALESHA...I'm so lucky!...and they are stickers by Stampin' Up! Very easy, fun and I think they are so cute! Well, thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!

Valentine's

Hey friends, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year!!! May 2010 be our very best ever! Now on to our next holiday and one of my favorites, Valentine's Day...hey, it's only a little over 5 weeks away peeps--it's coming our way fast..so consequently, I've begun my Valentine's card makin! :)
First, today's SCS sketch challenge, hosted by one fabulously crafty lady, Carolina Buchting! She designed a truly awesome sketch for us and here is my take on it.
Note: My watermark on the card above is a faux pas in that is does not include My Favorite Things stamps. Please disregard this mistake. thanks :)
I stamped the big dotted heart in white craft and embossed it in gold. The sweetheart sentiment and 2 smaller hearts in the corner are from a $1 mini stamp set from Studio G-love that company! I added some gold stickles to the corner piece and a tiny white bow to the main image panel.
Now, for my actual My Favorite Things card. I just felt like playing with this darling little set from MFT, Cupcake Flopsey and it makes for perfect valentines cards, yay! :)

Thank you so much for hoppin by my blog today :) Have a great one, friends!

I inked up my cupcake flopsey for the first time--can't believe I didn't sooner, he's so darn cute!
